It´s been a pretty exciting 1st two days of preliminaries here in Karlsruhe. Today (Tuesday):- The Canadian men´s team won against England and Denmark to make it to the finals Friday night against Italy
Canada beat England 3-2
It was back and forth with Marc Monsour winning, Dwayne Blair losing a close one, Cody Diesberg winning, Scott Morrison losing, and finally Robbie winning to the roar of the crowd. A brawl almost broke out when Scott´s opponent to a late swing at him.
Canada beat Denmark 3-0
Dwayne won the 1st match, and our own James won the 2nd fight 6-5 to the enorous roar of the crowd chanting "James, James, James!!!". Cody won the last match.
- Jordan made it to the continuous finals on Saturday
- Alison made it to the point fighting finals on Friday
- Imran bronzed in musical weapons and made it to the finals of the junior team forms with Alexa Littleton
- James won his first fight handily 10-1 against an Italian and lost his second
- I lost my fight against a German that won a bronze - the other 2 Canadians in my division also lost their first fights :( But I´m having a great time
Yesterday (Monday):
- Jordan got the bronze in weapons (missing the finals by 1/100 point) and did a strong Unsu kata
- Selina did a really nice Gankaku kata
Tomorrow, we have all the adult katas, including the open team forms (James and Imran) and traditional (Alison, Dirk, and James).
