We spent the day training in Heidleberg. Actually, we did a lot of walking up to the castle with frequent stops to shop, eat gelato, and drink cappuccino (I did the latter two while everyone else shopped). Tonight, we went to watch Imran pick up his musical weapons bronze.Yesterday (Wednesday) was the last day of the preliminaries:
- James won a bronze in the mens musical forms
- Alison finished 1st in weapons and 2nd in kata - she goes for the gold in both these events on Saturday
- Selina won 2 fights to win a bronze in pointfighting, narrowly missing out on the finals, losing her 3rd fight in double overtime
- Selina later won her match in the junior girls team fighting - the Canadian girls made it to the final
- Jordan lost her 1st pointfight against a German
- Imran and James were 2nd in free-style team forms and qualified for the finals
- Alison, James, and Dirk earned a bronze in traditional team forms
Tomorrow (Friday) is a big day with the following going for gold:
- Alison in the veteran womens pointfighting final (-60 kg)
- Imran and Alexa Littleton in the junior open team forms final
- Imran and James in the adult free-style forms final Friday night during the televised professional kickboxing event
- James in the mens team pointfighting final (Canada versus Italy)
On Saturday, we have the following going for gold:
- Alison in the veteran womens traditional forms final (against fellow Canadian and archnemesis Mary Kate Garrity)
- Alison in the veteran womens weapons final (against fellow Canadian Lily Desbiens)
- Selina in the junior girls team pointfighting final
- Jordan in the light contact (contiuous) female kids (+55 kg)
In other miscellaneous news, Imran and Marie-Eve Dicaire met to show each other some new moves (with their Bos), Eric Vidricare will be hosting a 3rd Sunfuki tournament (in addition to Cobra and the Laval Open) sometime in January. Oh yeah, James is getting pwned on a daily basis by just about everybody here.
